   Module 2: Pre-flight and Starting The Aircraft 
For this module, student should first read Airplane Flying Handbook (FAA-H-8083-3B)  Chapter 2

1.

Before starting this module, please read Airplane Flying Handbook (FAA-H-8083-3B) Chapter

2.  Each aircraft will have a checklist. Inside the Cessna, you will find a Checkmate Checklist as follows. On the left side of the list, you will find the Pre-Flight items.

2.

Prior to starting aircraft, the pilot should reference the 'Start' checklist.  The pilot should check through the line items on the checklist, then place the list on their lap, and use both hands to perform the engine start.

3.

The pilot will start the aircraft, taxi to the runway, and perform the run-up.  The run-up is intended to ensure the aircraft is operating appropriately and safely before take-off.
