  • What do I have to do to become a pilot?

The FAA requires a minimum of 20 hours of instruction, 10 hours of solo flight, and a total minimum of 40 hours of flight time before a student can take their check-ride to become a private pilot. Here is a link with more info about the requirements and privileges of a Private Pilot: https://tinyurl.com/bdebvyjh

  • What are the costs for flight training?

We tell students to generally plan to budget around $10,000 total to accomplish their Private Pilot License with us, however, this amount varies person-to-person.

Depending on how often you fly, how much you study, and your natural ability to fly the aircraft, the total time and cost to accomplish the training will vary.

Our hourly cost is as follows:

-Instructor time: $70/hour

-Cessna 150 Rental: $130/hour

-Cessna 172 Rental: $160/hour

Lessons are usually around 1.5-2 hours with the instructor total, and around 1.0 hours in the aircraft.

We require no payment up front after the intro flight. You can make payment after each lesson on a lesson-by-lesson basis.

  • How does scheduling work?

All lessons are 1-on-1 directly with your instructor.  You will be able to plan lessons with them, with the time tailored to your schedule.  We are located at the Kalamazoo Airport and fly all year, weather depending.
